"Free Metal Detecting Secret"
Dear Friend
Metal detecting is basically a new way of living an active life. You can either do it as a hobby or as a profession, either way you will get more than just an opportunity to find unique lost treasures. If history excites you, then using metal detecting in order to find long lost treasures might be as thrilling for you as bungee jumping is for others. Imagine you find an old piece of metal vessel. Trying to guess its origin, its history, or to whom it belonged is an extraordinary activity. If you are the kind of person that spends a lot of time in nature, then an activity ideal for you is to detect metal.
If you are thinking about taking up metal detecting, then you should know a little bit about metal detectors. They are not as main stream as you think. Some of them are quite expensive, so if you are not ready to invest heavily in this new hobby, maybe you are not that ready to detect metal. But if you want something that will get you closer to the treasure, you should definitely acquire a deep-set machine. Not only will it be able to find objects in the deeper layers of the ground – hence older objects– but it will also offer an advantage over the competition. There is some competition in metal detecting too. Treasure hunters will stop at nothing in order to get what they want.
When going treasure hunting, it is important not to make any mistake. Practice in using your metal detector on a beach. It is so much easier to dig up in sand. At first you will dig for anything that you get a signal on. Further in your experience you will learn that there are different signals for different types of objects. You will learn to identify the object detected not by digging it up, but by the sound the metal detector makes when it finds the object.
Most metal detectors ignore things such as tin foil or nails, so you would not have to dig for those worthless objects all the time. Some metal detectors allow you to customize their settings. Basically you adjust their sensitivity and depth of detection in order to avoid a signal whenever a nail is identified. But be careful: adjusting the machine’s sensitivity too much will enable you to surpass not only nails and tinfoil, but also small coins, nickels or even golden rings. Get some advice from an expert; see how he or she started out. It may help you learn what you need to do in order to improve your skills when you try to detect metal and correctly identify and discriminate the different types of signals.
One very important thing to remember is to work neatly. Do not leave any holes uncovered, as people may not see them and they may get hurt. And no matter what you dig up and however worthless it is, never leave it behind. Even if you will throw it in the next trashcan you see, never leave anything at a dig site. Things such as nails or tinfoil can cause serious injury on people. Also, remember that trespassing is illegal and someone may be very uncomfortable with you digging holes on their property. Try to get the owner’s approval for such a dig.
Sincerely
Ronald Hoff
